The Alice Dean-Daniel Memorial Fund (ADDMF)
In memory of Alice, who taught private piano lessons in Hawai'i for 34 years, the ADDMF has been established to support youth music education in West Hawai'i.

The Fund, which is a component of the Rotary Club of Kona Community Foundation, will provide funds for private music lessons for youth recommended by their music teachers, with preference given for lessons directed at learning to read music and understand music theory. Funds will be disbursed in payment of invoices from the music teachers for lessons already taught. Scholarships are normally awarded each school semester, with renewals based on satisfactory certifications by both teachers and students. New applications are welcome on an ongoing basis.

Current scholarships are continuing during the COVID-19 pandemic with remote lessons, where feasible. Because of the pandemic disruption, all current scholarships have been extended through calendar year 2020. The Fund solicits and will welcome applications for continued and new scholarship support beginning in 2021. Such applications should be submitted by December 1, 2020.

Annual donation commitments are encouraged, so that we can plan for future continuation of this youth music scholarship program.
